FY 2007 Transit Security Grant Program
Summary
This California Supplement to the FY 2007 Transit Security Grant Program (TSGP), Federal Program Guidelines and Application Kit is intended to complement, rather than replace, the guidelines published by the United States Department of Homeland Security (US-DHS). The supplement includes additional California policies and requirements applicable to FY 2007 TSGP.
IPP/TSGP Base
The TSGP is one of five grant programs that constitute the Department of Homeland Security Fiscal Year 2007 Infrastructure Protection Program (IPP). The IPP is one tool among a comprehensive set of measures authorized by Congress and implemented by the Administration to help strengthen the nation's critical infrastructure against risks associated with potential terrorist attacks.
The vast bulk of America's critical infrastructure is owned and/or operated by State, local and private sector partners. The funds provided by the TSGP are primarily intended to support the work of public transit agencies that operate rail and bus networks. The TSGP also supports security funding for ferry systems and the National Passenger Rail Corporation, Amtrak.
