California Disaster Volunteer Summits

Enhancing and Understanding Volunteer Coordination in Disasters

California Volunteers, in partnership with the Governor's Office of Emergency Services, the Governor's Office of Homeland Security, and key local partners is hosting several Disaster Volunteer Summits across California.

These Summits are open to local, state, and tribal government agencies involved in emergency management; volunteer service providers, voluntary agencies, volunteer programs, and non-governmental organizations active in volunteer management in disaster.

The first and primary purpose of these Summits are to familiarize public, private, and non-profit organizations within each California mutual aid region with the volunteer resources available within their region and how to access them in times of disaster. These Summits are also designed to increase the capacity of local, regional, and state emergency management organizations to manage volunteer resources during emergencies and disasters.
